SPRING TRYOUTS 2025
All players wanting to try out MUST complete everything listed below by 8pm on January 16th.
Physical Form – Must turn in to SGP trainers You can email completed forms to Lance.Gholston@gpisd.org.
Mandatory Tryout Meeting – Wednesday, January 8th - This is a mandatory meeting for anyone that plans to tryout for the baseball team. All attendees should make their way to the bleachers behind home plate at Warrior Field after school. We will start promptly at 3:20pm.
Our tryout process will mirror that of a typical baseball tryout where we will evaluate player’s speed, arm strength, fielding ability, and ability to hit.
*NOTE - If you are currently playing another sport at SGP, you cannot tryout for the baseball team until your current season is over. Contact Coach Ylda if you have any questions.*
FRIDAY – JANUARY 17, 2025
3:30pm-4:00pm – Check-In – Registration (at the concession stand)
4:00pm – Introduction
4:05pm – Tryouts begin
6pm - Players released
SATURDAY – JANUARY 18, 2025
9:45am – All remaining tryout players will participate in an intrasquad game.
12:00pm – Players released for the day
